Waihora Pony Club welcomes all South Island Pony Clubs to participate in Waihora Springston Trophy 2012 from October 5th - 7th October 2012. Dressage and Show Jumping will be held in the Waihora Domain with the Cross Country being run on the Waihora Pony Club grounds incorporating part of the Motukarara Race Course.
COMPETITION DATES
Wednesday 3rd October - Check in for Manager Packs
Thursday 4th October - Official Course Walk/Helmet Inspection
Friday 5th October - Dressage Day/AGM Meeting
Saturday 6th October - Cross Country Day
Sunday 7th October - Show Jumping Day/Team Parade & Prize Giving
ABOUT WAIHORA PONY CLUB
Waihora Pony Club was formed 54 years ago. The Club is based on the Motukarara Domain grounds where we have a wonderful clubroom which was moved onto the present site by some of the founding club families. Waihora Pony Club in conjunction with Springston Pony Club last hosted Springston Trophy in 1977.
Waihora Pony Club prides itself on its down-to-earth grass roots atmosphere and its history. It still has strong connections with its founding members where their children rode and now they have the enjoyment of watching their grandchildren ride on the same grounds.
The committee has worked hard over the past 5 years upgrading facilities available to our members. Beginning with the replacement of our water jump in 2008 and the building of over 40 new/replacement jumps of various heights. The 2011/2012 season sees the construction on a new 60x60 all-weather arena, horse pens and upgraded entranceway.

ACCOMODATION
Horse accommodation is available at Canterbury Park in their lovely covered stabling complex if you require this please let Jill Ware know on 03 325 6286 or jillware@xtra.co.nz .
Teams accommodation - there is a variety of motels around, closest ones to Canterbury Park would be on Lincoln Road, Riccarton Road and Blenheim Road. Closest accommodation to the Motukarara Grounds/Waihora Pony Club would be in Lincoln (new motel and hotel complex under construction - both will be operating by October 2012).
