NZ casino payment methods โ deposits, withdrawals & fees
The payment method you choose at a New Zealand-facing online casino determines three things: how fast your bonus activates, how soon you can withdraw winnings, and whether you pay any hidden currency-conversion fees. This guide unpacks every method that works for Kiwi players, with deposit and withdrawal speeds measured against real test transactions during 2025-26.

POLi โ the Kiwi default
POLi (Pay Online) is the most distinctive New Zealand payment rail. It pulls funds directly from your online-banking account using a real-time pass-through, so the casino sees the deposit confirmed within seconds with no card-association fees attached.
Supporting banks: ANZ, ASB, Westpac, BNZ, Kiwibank, SBS, TSB. The Co-operative Bank is partial. Deposit minimum NZ$10, maximum NZ$10,000 per transaction. Multiple deposits per day are allowed up to operator-level limits.
The drawback is that POLi is deposit-only โ withdrawals must use a different method, typically bank transfer back to the same account, or e-wallet. Casinos in our toplist that support POLi: Vegas Now, Slotbox, SpinAway, JackpotCity, Spin Casino, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune, PlayOJO, BetVictor.
Visa and MasterCard
Universally supported across all 15 sites in our toplist. Deposits are instant, withdrawals take 2-5 working days because the card network has to clear the reverse transaction. Some New Zealand-issued Visa and MasterCard products will treat gambling deposits as a cash advance โ check with your card issuer if you are unsure. Westpac, ANZ, BNZ and ASB cards historically process gambling deposits as normal purchases at our test operators.
If your card is declined at a specific operator but works elsewhere, the issuer (not the casino) is usually applying a category-block. POLi or an e-wallet is the workaround.
Paysafecard and prepaid vouchers
Paysafecard is the longest-established prepaid voucher option. You buy a 16-digit code at a retailer (Z petrol stations, BP, dairies displaying the Paysafecard sticker) in denominations of NZ$10 to NZ$500, then enter the code at the cashier. No bank or card details touch the casino.
Flexepin works on the same model and is widely distributed through New World, Pak'n Save and 4Square dairies. JetonCash is the newer, more digital-native equivalent โ you buy it online and receive the voucher by email instantly.
All three prepaid methods are deposit-only. Withdrawals must use Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, bank transfer or crypto. The advantage is total separation between your banking and your gambling โ no transactions appear on your bank statement.
E-wallets โ Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity
The fastest method for withdrawals. Skrill and Neteller (both owned by Paysafe Group) clear withdrawal requests inside 24 hours at every site in our toplist, with the best operators (Vegas Now, 7Bit) clearing inside 12. The catch is fees on the e-wallet side: Skrill charges 1% on withdrawals back to your bank, Neteller charges 2.5%. MiFinity charges nothing at most NZ-facing operators.
Both Skrill and Neteller exclude players from claiming many welcome bonuses (it varies by operator โ read the bonus T&C carefully). MiFinity has wider bonus eligibility but slightly less industry coverage. If you plan to claim a welcome bonus, deposit with POLi, Visa or MasterCard and only switch to an e-wallet for the eventual withdrawal.
Cryptocurrency for high rollers
Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT are accepted at Vegas Now, Casombie, WildTornado, NeonVegas, 7Bit and BitStarz. Practical advantages for Kiwi players:
- Unlimited withdrawal sizes (no per-transaction cap)
- Sub-hour clearing times for ETH and USDT, sub-90-minute for BTC
- No bank or payment processor friction
- Strong privacy โ no third party sees your transaction history
The trade-offs are exchange-rate volatility between deposit and withdrawal (use USDT to minimise this), the slight initial complexity of buying and storing crypto, and the technical step of copying wallet addresses correctly. Send a small test amount before any large transfer.
What to avoid
- Casinos that do not accept NZD natively. A 2.5-4% currency conversion charge stacks up fast.
- Withdrawal fees above 1%. Top sites do not charge withdrawal fees on the casino side โ anything more than the e-wallet's own fee is a red flag.
- Pending-period traps. Some operators have a 24-72 hour "reversible withdrawal" window during which you can re-deposit the cash. Disable this in account settings if available โ it is engineered to keep money on the platform.
- Mismatched-method requirements. Most operators force withdrawals to the same method as deposit (up to deposit amount). Profit can withdraw to a different method.
